Morning and Afternoon: Arrive Cochin and transferred to pre booked hotel in the city Kochi (colonial name Cochin) is the green commercial capital of Kerala, a cluster of islands located on the coast of the Arabian sea with one of the finest natural harbors in the world .. The harbour is the nucleus around which Cochin and its mainland part Ernakulam has grown to attain such strategic importance over the centuries as underlined by the sobriquet “Queen of the Arabian Sea “. Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala, being the most cosmopolitan and modern city of Kerala where the best shopping, markets and bazaars are located.
Evening: Evening visit to a nearby theatre to witness Kathakali dance. The Kathakali is the famous art form of Kerala with elaborate make up for the artists, each performance based on a story. It will be interesting to watch from the time the artist starts the makeup. Overnight at the hotel.
Morning: Breakfast at the hotel. The day is occupied with the special program Kochinivasi. Historical sites included: The Dutch Palace at Mattancherry- renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana. The Jewish Synagogue at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town, The St Francis Church, the oldest European Church in India and the Chinese fishing nets believed to have brought to Kochi by the Chinese Traders.
Afternoon: Enjoy a simple lunch in a local restaurant. Your guide will make arrangements for this. Marine Drive.
Evening: Late evening drive to a local family in Cochin and enjoy your dinner with family (typical Cochin flavor). Overnight at the hotel.
Morning: After breakfast drive to Munnar.
Afternoon: In the afternoon proceed for a sightseeing of Munnar. Take an orientation tour at Tea Museum.
Evening: Overnight at Munnar.
Morning: After a leisurely breakfast from your Munnar hotel, by 11am – a drive for 1hr 15min to the trek starting location.
Afternoon: Arrive Chinnar Forest station by afternoon and meet your naturalist/local escort and the team of eco-guides. After a short briefing, you will be guided for a trek through the dry deciduous thorny scrub forests of Chinnar. A one hour trek will end at the campsite near river Pambar. You will be staying a log hut. Trek around your camp with your naturalist for more wildlife viewing. These forests are home to one of the most endangered mammals of India, the Grizzled Giant Squirrel. The dry deciduous forest of Chinnar gives you an excellent opportunity to watch wildlife at close quarters.
Evening: Stay overnight at camp.
Munnar – Chinnar Camping and Trekking
Morning: Walk around your camp early in the morning with your naturalist. After breakfast, trek to Champakkad. Take a dip in the river Pampar to cool your body. A two hour long trek will end at Vasyappara. Camp in a traditional thatched hut on a ledge at the top of this hill – an ideal place for wildlife viewing and star gazing.
Afternoon: For lunch and dinner, simple vegetarian food is cooked and served by your hosts at camp.
Evening: Stay overnight in the hut.
Morning: Wake up early in the morning and move around the camp with your naturalist. Look for the animal signs like pug marks on the nearby trek path and watch birds and animals without disturbing them. After breakfast, Walk back to the Forest station with your guides and naturalist and bid adieu to Chinnar. Later drive to Periyar
Afternoon: Afternoon proceed for a Spice plantation visit where one can see the cultivation of a whole range of spices like pepper, cardamom, cloves, turmeric, vanilla, all spice cinnamon etc. Enjoy a common boat ride at lake Periyar (15.00 Hrs to 17.00 Hrs).
Evening: Overnight at the hotel.
Morning and Afternoon: After breakfast drive to Alleppey to board your Houseboat by noon.
Evening: The Boat will anchor at a calm bay during sunset and you will be tucked to sleep by the lullabies of the gentle waves.
Morning and Afternoon: After breakfast disembark from house boat and proceed to Marari – the famous beach destination. Enjoy the beaches / village walks / resort facilities / Ayurveda facilities on direct payment basis.
Evening: Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast in time transfer to Cochin Airport to connect your onward flight
