Itinerary

Day One:

Arrival in Beijing

Morning: Meet your Guide at the arrival hall of the airport

Upon your own private coach, transfer to your hotel for check-in and relax

Evening: Enjoy a welcome dinner: Beijing Cuisine

Day Two:

Sightseeing in Beijing

Morning: Gaze across Tiananmen Square and take in the full weight of its historical and cultural significance

Enter the Forbidden City, where emperors ruled, concubines fluttered their fans, and eunuchs schemed for five hundred years. learn more about the palace through an educational photo hunt challenge

Lunch

Afternoon: Take a Hutong walking tour around the ancient Drum Tower

Visit a Beijinger’s Siheyuan (Courtyard Home) and learn something abouttraditional Beijing culture

Evening: Peking Duck dinner

Day Three:

Beijing - Great Wall Hike & Village of Hexi

Day: Transfer to The Great Wall of China (Jinshanling Section)

Hike along the wall, exploring its many wonders

Visit the Village of Hexi at the foot of the great wall for an experience village life of rural China

Experience the Chinese rural way of living, exploring the local farms, village courtyards, and learn how to make Chinese Dumplings (cooking lesson) in a traditional village home

Transfer back to the City

Evening: Hot Pot Dinner

Day Four:

Beijing - Temple of Heaven & Shopping

Morning: Join local Beijingers in morning activities at the Temple of Heaven (hands-on activities include traditional yoyo or Taichi lessons)

Souvenir Shopping and free-time at the famous Pearl Market (only if teachers permit)

Afternoon: Visit the Capital Museum of China

Dinner

Day Five:

Beijing - Summer Palace & Overnight Sleeper to Xi'an

Morning: Checkout of your hotel

Transfer to the Summer Palace, delve into the history of the Qing dynasty as you explore the Emperor’s garden retreat.

Lunch

Transfer to 798 Contemporary Art District, delve into the various galleries and exhibitions. Learn about Chinese art through a scavenger hunt  activity

Dinner

Take overnight train (soft sleeper) Z19 (20:40/08:31) to Xi’an

Day Six:

Xi'an - Ancient Walls Cycle Tour & Cultural Sightseeing

Day: Guides will pick you up at Xi’an railway station and transfer you to hotel for breakfast.

Biking along Ancient City Walls of Xi’an and enjoy the finest view of Xi’an (1.5 hours/per, includes helmets)

Visit Drum tower and Bell tower, well-preserved example of Ming Dynasty architecture

Explore the Muslim Quarter and the Great Mosque

Enjoy local snacks within the Muslim quarter

Shadow-puppet show at Gao’s Family

Dinner

Day Seven:

Xi'an - Terracotta Warriors Museum & Cultural Activities

Morning: Transfer to and explore Terracotta Warriors Museum

Lunch: Local restaurant

Experience Chinese tea ceremony in the tea house nearby Terracotta Warriors museum

Explore the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built in the seventh century to house Buddhist texts and sutras

Pottery making class; make yourself a lovely handmade trinket or have a try at the potter’s wheel including making the mini Terra Cotta Warrior

Dinner

Evening: Walking along the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever-bright City (if time permit)

Day Eight:

Xi'an - Kung Fu School, Shaanxi History Museum, Stele Forest

Morning: Transfer to a local Kungfu School. Watch a Kungfu show performed by students, study Kungfu with the students

Lunch: In the school with the students

Afternoon: Visit the Shaanxi History Museum

Explore the Stele Forest where you can find the largest and richest collection of ancient engraved stone tablets in China

Dinner at dumpling restaurant

Day Nine:

Hua Shan - Mt Hua Peak

Morning: Transfer to Mt. Hua (3 hours)

A full day excursion, trekking one of Chinese most beautiful and mythical peaks (cable car ride included)

Packed Lunch

Transfer back to the city for dinner

Day Ten:

Transfer Xi'an - Chengdu

Morning: Checkout of your hotel

Transfer to Xian railway station for high-speed train ride

Staff will pick you up at Chengdu railway station and transfer to local restaurant

Explore the local park and learn sugar painting/playing mahjong with tea drink there

Check-in hotel and freshen up

Dinner in the local restaurant

Day Eleven:

Chengdu - Dujiangyan Panda Reserve

Morning: Early departure for Dujiangyan Panda Reserve at 7:00 am

Half day Panda volunteer program

Lunch in the local restaurant

Afternoon: Hike through Qingcheng Mountain (cable car ride included), a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Dinner

Day Twelve:

Chengdu Sichuan Cooking Museum, Jingsha Museum & Sichuan Opera

Day: Experience local market where locals buy fresh vegetables and meat everyday

Learn how to cook the local food at Sichuan Cooking Museum

Lunch at Sichuan Cooking Museum

Afternoon: Visit Jinsha Museum, which consists of a five-square kilometer area that was found to contain important relics of an ancient kingdom that
predated Chinese settlement in the area

If time permits, explore local snacks and treat at Kuanzhai lane, which is literally translated into "broad and narrow alleys

Evening: Watch Sichuan Opera including face-changing performance after dinner

Day Thirteen:

Chengdu - Leshan Giant Buddha

Morning: Transfer to Leshan (2 hours 30minutes)

Boating around Leshan Mount, Explore Leshan Giant Buddha (boat ride included), a Tang dynasty (618-907 AD) relic that, at 71 meters (232 feet), which is the largest stone carved Buddha in the world

Lunch

Afternoon: Transfer back to Chengdu. Walking leisurely on the famous local shopping street Chunxi Road to buy some souvenirs (if time permit)

Evening: A celebratory final Hotpot Dinner

Day Fourteen:

Chengdu - Checkout and Airport Transfer

Checkout of your hotel

Transfer to the Airport and depart on departure flight
