This trip covers most interesting destinations of Northern India and takes you deep inside the Himalayas to discover village life. India home to a huge variety of languages, religious beliefs, historical, architectural & archaeological treasures: an area influenced by many over the centuries, including the British Raj. There are diverse communities living by the melted glacier water on the banks of Holy rivers. It is a truly remarkable and inspiring place. Expedition Leaders specially made tailor-made itinerary that offers a great opportunity to explore the cultural and sustainable aspects of the region as well as to experience age-old Indian culture, the hidden Himalayas and discover some amazing historical architectural masterpieces, such as The Taj Mahal.

Day 0: 25 June – Departure London or Europe:  

Day 1: 26 June – Arrival in Delhi: 11:20pm Airport pick up, check-in at hotel and afternoon sightseeing Delhi.

Day 2: 27 June – Day in Delhi and overnight Delhi:

Day 3: 28 June - Train to Shimla: Early morning train at 7:40am Shatabadi Express to Kalka and change to the Himalayan Queen narrow gauge train to Shimla through the hills. Train in the Himalayan foot hills, No visit to India would be complete without a journey on its railways (4-5 hours). Overnight Shimla Hills.

Day 4: 29 June – Heritage walks in Shimla: This will be a relaxed morning, including a visit to the local market and famous British-styled town, Shimla. There are wonderful views of the snowy Himalayas and from here you can drive in the afternoon to Naldehra for a walk in the woods and tea and evening down to the farms house in a traditional village. Overnight will be a Home Stay with local family – a wonderful opportunity to experience Indian hospitality.


Day 5: 30 June – Rafting and drive to Sarahan Early morning a visit around the village and after breakfast drive to Sarahan and may experience the white water rafting in the Satluj River and afternoon drive to Sarahan Temple. Overnight at hotel or temple guest house in Sarahan.

Day 6: 1 July – Sightseeing and drive to Kafnu: Visit the ancient temple built from carved wood, visit the bird sanctuary overlooking the Shrikhand mountain over 5160m. Soon after drive to Kafnu village for trekking. If you’d like to see more, please follow the link for a map:

Day 7: 2 July – Trek Day 1 - Trek from Kafnu to Mulling Camp (5hrs) at 3200m


Day 8: 3 July – Trek Day 2 - Trek from Mulling to Kara (4hrs) 3560m


Day 9: 4 July – Trek Day 3 - Circular trek from Kara (5hrs) to high point at 4300m

Day 10: 5 July – Trek Day 4 - Trek from Kara to Kafnu (5hrs) 2323m Early start trek down to the village Kafnu and drive down to Tattapani taking time on the way. Stay in a Spa hotel and enjoy by the lake view and hot springs after trekking. (or drive to Rampur and overnight at Rampur)


Day 11: 6 July – Morning rest and Day by the Lake Easy morning by the lake and afternoon visit to the village and overnight at the hotel.  

Day 12: 7 July – Shimla and night luxury bus to Delhi Easy morning and drive after breakfast to Shimla or have lunch in Naldehra or walks by the Golf course to enjoy the cool bridge in the alpine woods, before heading for the afternoon to Shimla Mall and evening dinner at the Shimla Mall and night bus to Delhi from Shimla.  

Extend your tour to with Golden Triangle to see the Taj Mahal and Pink City. Only for: £165 per person

8th July to 11th July 3 Full Days from Delhi to Agra and Jaipur

Day 13: 8 July – Arrive in Delhi and breakfast in New Delhi and Train to Agra Arrive early in Delhi and drive to a restaurant for breakfast in Delhi and after refreshing take the taxi to the Train Station to take the train to Agra. Visit the Taj Mahal in the evening and overnight in Agra.  

Day 14: 9 July – Morning drive to Fatehpur Sikari and afternoon drive to Jaipur the Capital of Rajasthan State and the land of Maharaja’s Fatehpur Sikri is one of the best preserved collections of Indian Mughal architecture in India. There will be a chance for some sightseeing enroute to Jaipur and overnight there in a Home Stay with a swimming pool.  

Day 15: 10 July – Sightseeing in Jaipur the Pink city Full day to visit historical palaces and pink sandstone forts in this ‘land of the Majarajas’. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to pick up some bargains at the City’s markets.  

Day 16: 11 July - Train to Delhi and Flight home.
