"I had a wonderful time in India, more importantly, the pupils thoroughly enjoyed it. My heartfelt thanks to you for all your generosity and kindness. I start a new academic year with thoughts of India…"
Peter Philips, Head Master - Cundall Manor School
I grew up in a small village on the banks of Satluj River in the western Himalayas. My memories are of happy days at school followed by plenty of daily chores on the small farm we lived on, such as picking fruit and vegetables, tending goats, ploughing with oxen and planting rice. It was a simple upbringing but I treasure my memories of the times sharing, learning and working with family members and within our community. The air was clean, the landscape inspiring and the friendships strong.
I founded Expedition Leaders because I wanted to share with others some of the experiences I was privileged enough to enjoy when I was younger. The busy lives most of us now live in western societies leaves precious little time to enjoy some of these simple aspects to life and the values that go hand-in-hand. Our expeditions to India & The Himalayas incorporate what I’ve learned from this rich culture, sustainable approach to life and strong values.
This remote and unspoilt area of the world is blessed with mighty mountains dotted with hill stations and temples. There are diverse communities living by the melted glacier water on the banks of Holy rivers. The culture is complex and influenced by a long history. Its people will give you an honest and warm welcome.
Though trekking, community projects and visits to cultural sites, we hope to give you a chance to experience it for yourself. We have been providing inspiring adventures to India & The Himalayas for 15 years. We understand the terrain and climate, the people and culture and we believe we can provide you with a richer, safer and more memorable experience. I encourage you to visit my wonderful homeland and I hope that you’ll trust Expedition Leaders to help you plan and enjoy your adventure there sometime soon.
