Trek Highlights

As you set off from the local valley village, you will quickly feel as if you are in the middle of the Himalayas. You’ll be greeted by friendly local people in authentic woollen handmade outfits. The life here is truly sustainable, with locals living in beautiful wooden carved houses. Passing through apple orchards farmed by local families you will experience the beauty of these remote and hidden areas

The Bhaba River snakes it way through a valley floor full of wild flowers and it is flanked by high mountain peaks. The trek up to Kara is moderate at first but gets more demanding in order to cross the 4890m pass into the Pin Valley and Spiti on the other side. There are choices to extend to trek upwards to some of the high peaks around Kara camp.

There’s a good chance you’ll meet Himalayan shepherds, who spend most of their life in the wilderness with their sheep and goats. You may even come across Ibex and Snow Leopards are known to live here.
